4- If he lives outside Quebec and wants to be a sponsor for his wife, he must pledge to provide financial care for his wife for a period of time, and this pledge obligates him to provide financial support to the wife from the time she obtains permanent residence, and he must pay any government assistance that the wife receives during that period.

5- The sponsored wife must agree to some responsibilities during the pledge period.

Upon submitting the application, the sponsoring person who holds Canadian citizenship shall sign a form that includes the undertaking and the sponsorship agreement.
